Parkside patients benefit from faster recovery with new heart attack treatment
The Parkside Suite is a dedicated private unit located within the high achieving Frimley Park Foundation Trust Hospital. One new emergency treatment now available in Frimley Park is the 24-hour primary angioplasty service for patients suffering from the deadliest types of heart attack. This treatment gives you the best possible chance of survival and recovery and has already saved the lives of 150 patients from Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire in the last year.
The Cath lab team performed 150 primary angioplasty procedures in 2010.
A round-the-clock team of specialist medics use x-ray imaging to guide catheters to the location of blockages causing heart attacks. The blockages are reopened using tiny balloons inserted through the catheters, usually with wired mesh tubes called stents used to brace open the artery walls.
Parkside’s privileged location enables private patients to have easy access to this technology whilst enjoying hotel-quality services and en-suite rooms. |
