As a General Urologist Mr Barber provides care relating to all relevant aspects of male health. His surgical interests relate to the application of minimally invasive, cutting edge techniques in achieving excellent outcomes with minimal intrusion into quality of life. This commitment is exemplified by his pioneering introduction of Green Light photoselective vaporisation of the prostate to the UK in 2002 and to Frimley Park Hospital in 2005 and his application of Key-Hole or laparoscopic approaches in surgery relating to the kidney.
Bruce has been Network and Trust Cancer Lead and has a specific interest in the diagnosis and the non-surgical management of prostate cancer. He believes in a pateint-centred approach. He has helped to introduce the more extensive template biopsy technique.
