Consultations

The Out-Patients Suite is comprised of four spacious and comfortable consulting rooms, a treatment room and dedicated x-ray facility. The Suite is decorated and equipped to a very high standard, and is staffed by a dedicated team of qualified professionals. Consultants from most specialties within the hospital use this facility, and may undertake out-patient procedures, such as minor operations, electrocardiography and phlebotomy with the help of our dedicated staff.

Pre-Operative Assessments

When you are scheduled to undergo surgery, you may be sent an appointment to attend the pre-operative assessment clinic, which is held in the Parkside Out-Patient Suite. A general health assessment and screening will ensure that you are fit for surgery and for an anaesthetic. A history of your health will be taken and dates of previous operative procedures will be required. You will be seen by the pre-operative assessment nurse; this appointment will take approximately forty-five minutes to one hour. You will be given the opportunity to discuss your admission, hospital stay and discharge. Information will be given about your operation and what to expect during the post-operative period.  Whilst at the clinic, you may undergo several tests, including ECG (heart trace), chest x-ray, MRSA swabbing and blood tests. Please bring with you all current medication and a specimen of urine in a clean container.
