Your consultant will discuss with you when he/she feels you are well enough to go home.
Before you leave the hospital, there are some things you will need to do:

  • Make sure you take any medication you need home with you. We normally provide a week's supply. Most medicines are free. However, it is worth noting that some high cost drugs may be chargeable.
  • Ask when you next need to see your Consultant.
  • If required, arrangements will be made for a District Nurse to visit you at home.
  • Ask your Consultant for a sick certificate should you need one.
  • Remember to collect any money or valuables you handed in for safe keeping.
  • Please take a few minutes to complete the Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire; your comments and feedback are important for us to be able to maintain a high level of service. We welcome any ideas or suggestions for improvement which you may have.
