About Your Admission

Should you choose The Parkside Suite, you will need your General Practitioner to refer you to one of the hospital’s Consultants privately. You will then receive a private out-patient appointment with the appropriate Consultant. If in-patient treatment is necessary, an appointment will be arranged for your admission to The Parkside Wards. On arrival at Reception, you will be escorted to your room, where you will be made familiar with the various facilities available. You will be required to complete a questionnaire, which will include your personal details and past medical history. We believe this to be an important part of the admission procedure. All information taken from you is held in the strictest confidence and is available only to those directly responsible for your treatment and care.

Prior to your admission to the Parkside Suite, it is important to consider the arrangements following your discharge. For example, you may require a friend/relative to stay with you for the first few days after you return home. You may not be able to drive or to lift heavy objects, so you need to consider housekeeping, grocery shopping, and you may have pets at home which require walking regularly.

Your Admission To Hospital

We would recommend that you bring the following in with you for your stay with us:

  • Loose comfortable clothing, nightclothes, dressing gown & slippers.
  • Toiletries (towels provided).
  • Spectacles & hearing aid
  • Reading material
  • Valuables (We would recommend that you do not bring valuables with you into hospital. If, however, this is unavoidable, please inform the nursing staff, who will arrange for safe keeping).
  • Any regular medication that you may be taking.
  • Any x-rays or mammograms in your possession.
  • Letter of admission.
  • Means of payment (if applicable).
  • Health insurance details. We would advise that you check with your insurers to ensure that your treatment is covered before it begins and to discuss fees with your Consultant and Anaesthetist.
  • Your insurance claim form. You may need to have this signed by your GP, Consultant, or, in some cases, with corporate policies, the company signature prior to admission.
